Discover an exciting world of contemporary art at Viborg Kunsthal, where both recognised and emerging artists present their works. Whether you are an art connoisseur or just curious, inspiring exhibitions and unique experiences await you.

The living and creative art

Viborg Kunsthal offers a unique opportunity to experience magnificent exhibitions by recognised Danish and international artists. The Kunsthal has a special focus on living and creative art and organises a number of parallel events in connection with the exhibitions. These include artist talks, lectures, workshop visits, concerts and workshops for children and adults. You can also book a guided tour of the current exhibitions.

Historic building in beautiful surroundings

Viborg Kunsthal is located in the centre of Viborg by the lakes and is housed in an atmospheric historic building from 1734, where spirits used to be produced. In 1994, the building was converted into an art centre and has since been one of Denmark's leading exhibition venues for contemporary art.

After a visit to the art centre, you can enjoy a cup of coffee in the café or take a walk around Borgvold - the city's beautiful park. Viborg's cosy streets and historic sights are also within walking distance. There are good accommodation and parking options in the city near the kunsthallen and it is easy to reach by public transport or car.

Practical information

All parking at Viborg Kunsthal is free and without time limit.

The Kunsthal is closed on 24-26 December, 31 December and 1 January.
