Damgaard Mill was built in 1867 by Baron Holger F.C. Stampe-Charitus, who also owned Groennebaek farm at Hovslund.

He sold the mill to Iver Jessen in 1875 and Jessen's sons took over its production in 1918, when they returned from World War I.
The mill ground corn until 1972 and its machinery is still functional.
